I was quite lucky all my life as I was never considered fat except after my pregnancy. It took me quite a while before I was contented with my size. But well, woman can never be satisfied!

The problem is, I tend to put on more inches on our lower body first, particularly my tummy and thighs. And that’s a major concern for me because that’s the area which is hardest to shed.

With the hectic work schedule I have, I hardly have time to workout at gym or schedule any regular workouts. I have been into squash and street jazz lately but none of these, I was able to have a fix schedule. The only schedule I would regularly do is ---- Feasting with friends. I am those who loves catching up with friends over lunch, dinner or supper, give me a call and I will be there.

Two months back, I went to BodyPerfect outlet at Parkway Parade for a one-on-one consultation to see if there’s an easier way out. During the consultation, the consultant patiently listens to my needs and she then did a body composition analyser for me. And just as I thought, my fat percentage is much higher than I should have.

With the detailed explanation of how the fats are form and what should be needed, she proposed a 15 customised session treatments to help me to achieve my desired figure.  All excited, I immediately book a slot the next day. Glad that they are so accommodating and managed to squeeze me into their tight schedule.

Before the start of treatment, weight and measurements was taken as a record for comparison after every treatment. It is also a good way to motivate yourself to meet your expected target!

And so, there’s the start of my slimming journey!

40K Ultrasonic Cavitation  - Another powerful non-surgical sculpting treatment that blast fat cells to shrink cellular volume for inch loss results. It also helps to increase lymphatic circulation. After this treatment, it is recommended to drink as much water as possible to flush out the toxins

As all their treatments and slimming programs are customised to suits individual needs, there are a lot of other slimming machines and technology available at BodyPerfect. And did you know, they do facials as well?

At the end of most treatments, a 30 minutes cold wrap will be used to boost your metabolism and help to burn fats faster. This cold wrap also helps to firm and tone up your skin.

For each session, it would usually take about 2 hours or lesser. The good thing is, the consultants will accommodate and communicate with you to plan accordingly to your time. For someone like me, who never have a fixed schedule, I am grateful to have that kind of understanding and service!

Bye Bye Back-acne, Welcome Flawless Back

How often do you take a closer look of your back? Or maybe its just me. Taking granted that I have no issues with a clean and proper hygiene. After all, dealing with back acne is not an easy task because it an area where it’s hard to reach and spot.

It started about a year ago where I had to attend many formal events and being someone who loves bare back gowns and off-shoulder dresses, this really affects my self-confident.

Well, I guess the main reason that triggers the problem was the increase of outdoor activities, the humid weather and also, a shoulder hair length. But I was lucky enough to discover the problem before it got worst.

I have tried a few remedies which I have researched online and it did helps slightly but the scars can never be treated. One of the short-term aliment I have found online is to use saline based cleanser and aloe vera gel. This will help to reduce the itch and lesser the breakouts. However for scarring and long term treatment, this is not the best solution.

Back acne (bacne), similar to facial acne occurs when excessive sebum and dead skin cells clog pore and hair follicles. This build-up of oil and dead skin that leads to bateria growth and inflammation.

Decided to share this problem with Privé Asethetics during my consultation for my face and I am surprised to know that they have customised treatments targeted just for back-acne! For that moment, I felt so relieved. What can be better to have a cure with the experts?

For back treatments, at least 4-6 treatment for best results and of course, depending on your condition. For my case, it was considered mild because I've discovered it earlier, Phew!

I must say, having someone to clean aand scrub your back is heaven. It felt so refreshed after the scrub!

Just like facial, extraction is required to remove the whiteheads and blackheads. And this has to be done by a well-trained therapist.  In fact, extraction when done correctly, can clear closed comedones (AKA those tiny, flesh-colored bumps that never come to a head, yet never really go away) 

After which, a customised mask is applied for smoothing and hydration. For certain conditions, laser treatment will be used for lightening of the acne.

I must say the appearance of my scars was significally lighter and I have experienced lesser breakouts. Well, to be realistic, a few more sessions might be required for better results. Really enjoyed the sessions and the massage at the same time. Do avoid the sun for about a week after the treatment and apply moisturier whenever possible.

Here are some tips to keep acne away;

Wear lighter, looser cloth to allow skin to breathe better

Shower after your workouts and make sure you clean it properly

Do not reuse sweat-soaked clothes

Apply aloe vera gel 2 times a day

If you are already facing back acne problem, I would strongly suggest that you should get it treated before it get worse.

Glowing skin with Privé Asethetics - Aqua Shine Facetherapy

As most of you know, I have been very conscious with my complexion lately especially passing the big 35 mark. Being disciplined, following the required daily routine at home helps quite a lot but…. to maintain and achieve a healthier glowing skin,  you still need the experts. After cleansing, a patented Hydro Peel tip is used to remove the dead skin. This machine uses a vacuum system to exfoliate the skin and gently vacuums away the dead skin

Next up is extraction, a painful but needed process

Never I had a shoot where you get to meet so many gorgeous and happy people, including the crews! They were all awesome.

A Mother's Day Gift - Jemanci

While many working moms struggles their day to day the moment waking up, from preparing the kids to school, preparing breakfast, preparing to work and parking their kids at childcare or nanny, I am so blessed to have a wonderful mum who has spent all her life taking care of me and the family and now, my kids. I have always been her priority and making sure I am able to juggle my work and kids.

She is one who never gives up and constantly the one who keeps us going and stress-free. Thinking back, I was showered by her love and had always got what I want. Being the youngest in the family, I have the privileage to spent more time with her while the rest gets married off.

For all her life, she spent most of her time in the house taking care of my dad and kids. And now, the same treatment she gives unconditionally to my two kids.

This Mother's Day and conicidentally, also her birthday, I have decided to give her a surprise and I know this is what she has always wanted too, A portrait of herself and another, with my beloved sister, Gina.

And because its June holidays where the kids are not schooling, I had to find somewhere close by to minimise the travelling and time, I found Jemanci which is best choice I have ever made.
